Super Easy Oreo Bourbon Layered Chocolate Cake Recipe

If you are a cake lover but you don't think you can make a perfect yum cake like a baker, then this recipe is for you. It is a super easy cake and anyone can make it.  It's super yum too!

We call it a Lockdown Cake as we created it during the quarantine period with limited resources. We are going to give you the recipes for two cakes - one is Oreo Cake and the other one is Bourbon cake. Using these two cakes, we will make a drool-worthy layered chocolate cake. 

You can make two separate cakes as well - one Oreo Biscuit Cake and the other one Bourbon Biscuit Cake.

You can make these cakes any time and satisfy your chocolate cravings. Or impress your family and friends on birthdays or anniversaries.

You don't require an oven or microwave to bake this cake. Yes, you heard it right! So, without further ado, let's get started.

  • Oreo Biscuit Packets: 2  
  • Sugar: 1 Tbsp (or as per your taste)
  • Milk (at room temperature): 1 Cup 
  • Baking Powder: 1/2 Tsp Or Eno Sachet
  • Oil or Butter to grease the cake pan
  • Refined flour to dust the cake pan


1. Keep few Oreo biscuits aside to decorate the 

cake. Now put the biscuits in a grinder.

2. Add sugar to it as per your taste. We have 

added one tbsp sugar. Now grind biscuits and sugar 

into a fine powder.

3. Take out the fine powder in a bowl. 

4. Add milk to it which is at room temperature. Add milk slowly and keep mixing or whisking.

5. Now add 1/2 tsp baking powder. You can also add an Eno sachet instead of baking powder.

6. Mix all the ingredients well.

7. Meanwhile, preheat the kadai or pan for 10 minutes with lid covered.

8. Grease a cake tin with butter or oil. You can use a butter paper also if you have. Dust a little refined flour in the cake pan. 
We have used a heart-shaped cake pan, you can use any shape.

9. Now pour the batter in the cake tin and keep it in the pre-heated kadai or pan. Cover the lid and bake it for 40-45 minutes on low flame.

You can also add salt to the kadai/pan but not necessary.

10. After 40-45 minutes, check the cake once by performing the toothpick test. Take a toothpick and put it inside the cake, if it comes out clean then the cake is perfectly baked. 

If not, then let it stay on the gas stove for another five minutes.

11. Now take out the cake tin and let it cool down.

12. Once it has cooled, take the cake out of the pan by covering a plate over it and flipping it upside down.

13. We have used normal water to moisten the cake. You can use sweetened water by adding sugar in water. 

14. Now for frosting, we have used chocolate ganache. 

15. Guys, the Oreo cake layer is ready. You can dig into it straight away or you can make it a layered cake as we are doing it. So, let's keep it in the fridge.
