The Story Of 12th Fail Movie

'12th Fail' is a motivational saga of a poor student Manoj (Vikrant Massey) who flunks 12th grade exam but fate has something else planned for him. A real life story, based on a book of the same name written by Anurag Pathak, the narrative of 12th Fail film navigates Manoj's challenging journey.

The underdog story while following Manoj's life, also brings to the fore loopholes of our education and legal systems. Manoj studies in a school where cheating is openly allowed but the year he was appearing for his 12th boards, DSP Dushyant Singh (Priyanshu Chatterjee) intervenes and stops the students from cheating.
All students, including Manoj, fail. The incident completely changes Manoj's life and Dushyant, the honest officer becomes his inspiration and idol.
The next year, he again appears for the boards but this time, he doesn't succumb to cheating. He passes with the third division and goes to Gwalior for UPSC coaching. But destiny has different plans for him and he lands in Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar. With his perseverance, efforts, dedication and determination, he finally achieves his ambition by cracking the most difficult examination in the country.

Vikrant Massey's Manoj Kumar Sharma makes you root for him. His authentic performance captures the nuances of the character he portrayed. Medha Shankar gave an endearing performance as Shradhha his girlfriend.
Priyanshu Chatterjee made his presence felt in his brief role as an honest officer. Anant V Joshi as Manoj's friend Pandey portrayed different shades of his character with perfection, be it that of a helpful friend or a jealous competitor.
Anshuman Pushkar as Gauri Bhaiya, his mentor delivered an outstanding performance as a failed aspirant who guides and motivates young aspirants. Harish Khanna as Manoj's father portrays a righteous poor man, who loses hope fighting a never-ending battle for justice, with conviction. Sarita Joshi as his grandmother and Geeta Aggarwal Sharma as his mother too were impressive.
